Like most of us, I use both ribbon and lace regularly in my card making - nothing finishes a card better than a nice bow! I therefore thought that you would not be surprized to see a card with ribbon, so I decided to surprize you in another way ...... by making my first Christmas Card of the year!
That's right, I have made start on my Christmas cards. This is one of my favourite vintage rubber stamps and you may be right if you are thinking that you have see me use it before.
Today I decided that to use my Promarkers to make the decorative ribbon on the stamp a beautiful red. I also added some glitter to the tree and to highlight the sentiment. I mounted the image on gold mirri and red card and used some decorated gold mirri as the background. The final touch is of course a gorgeous red ribbon and bow.

Oh no, you've made a start!!! That is a fabulous image and both the coloured in ribbon and the real thing are stunning. xx
ReplyDeleteHa ha. All the time I was making my cards I was imagining what you would say. I shouldn't worry, I do not imagine I will make many more at this time. Come December I will be panicking as usual.
DeleteYay you, starting your Christmas stash...I really need to get on top of that! Love this image Dee, the splashes of red on the ribbon are wonderful and perfect for the challenge theme! Gorgeous gold paper, what a festive card!
ReplyDeleteEvery year I am burning the candle both ends come December, trying to get my Christmas cards in the post. This year I have at least made a start on my cards and I am knitting presents in the form of jumpers for my little niece and nephew. Just trying to get ahead for once!
DeleteFabulous festive card, a really lovely design

Thank you. I love this old stamp. When it comes to Christmas cards I find myself returning to my ancient rubber stamps time after time. Just shows it pays to hoard stuff!
