Happy Easter Sunday

Good morning

How is your weekend going, I hope it is a happy time for you.

I have another Easter card to share with you today.

This image is from Saturated Canary and is called Princess Rose Red.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on some silver mirri and lace. The backing papers are from a Papermania paper stack and, finally, I added some tiny pink buttons and flat backed gems from my stash.

Happy Easter

Good morning and I hope that all of you celebrating Easter are making the most of this long weekend.

I have not been very organised this year and have not made as many Easter cards as I did last year, so I only have one to share with you today.

 

I am not sure my photography skills have done this card justice, I hope you can work out the shape and are not confused by the reflections in the mirri card.

This cute little Mo Manning image is rapidly becoming a favouite of mine, she is called Bunches.  After colouring it with Promarkers I layered it on silver mirri and paper from a Papermania stack.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and finally I added a couple of bows.

My First Twinchie

My good friend Lisette has recently introduced me the the world of twinchies.

Now, I will be honest and confessed that when Lisette first started to talk about twinchies I had to go off and Google the word because I had never heard of them.  For those of you in the same position as I was, first I should explain that there are inchies. These are 1 inch  x 1 inch pieces of artwork.  They can feature whatever you want just as long as it is an inch squared, you can use any media you like to make it, ie paper, fabric, wood, metal etc. but most people seem to favour collages.  A twinchie is the same but on a larger scale - 2 inches x 2 inches (5.1 cm x 5.1 cm).

I am not sure I could work on such a small scale as to make an inchie but inspired by Lisette's enthusiasm and encouragement I have made my first twinchie.

Such a small thing was a little hard to photograph and this is actually larger than the original.

I found a treasure map on the internet and printed it.  I then cut my 2" x 2" piece of card and pasted the map to it.  The image is by Mo Manning and is called Captain Hugh, I coloured it with Promarkers, there wasn't a lot of room to fuss about shading, I was just pleased not to go over the lines!

After mounting the image onto the card and letting it dry I used some Martha Stuart glitter to create sand and added my 'X Marks the Spot'.  Finally, I edged the whole thing with some baker's twine.

I really enjoyed this experiment and, if I can think if another theme, I would not hesitate to make another.

Good morning

It was the wedding anniversary of my sister and her husband last week, I have lost count of the number of years it has been now, but they are not quite as old as this couple.  However, I hope they are still this much in love when they reach their age.

This adorable couple are by Mo Manning and are called Tom and Tilly.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri.  The papers and buttons came from my stash and, of course, the daffodils are  from Wild Orchid Crafts.

An Easter Gift

This morning I wanted to share with you a wonderful surprize  I received in the post yesterday.

This gorgeous Easter card was sent to me by my friend Michaela, isn't it fabulous?

This card is even more special because I know that Michaela does not make that many cards at the moment, so I feel especially privileged.  However, those cards Michaela does make are very special, please take a look at her blog and see for yourself.

Cherry Blossom Geisha Girl

Good morning

Today I have my third, and final,  Sherri Baldy geisha girl image to share with you, this one is Cherry Blossom Geisha.

I have let this lovely Papermania paper do most of the work as it is beautifully embossed and flittered.  I cut around one of the butterflies with my knife so I could tuck the image under it and added some rolled flowers and a sentiment.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted on silver mirri and another of the Papermania cherry blossom papers.

Jasmine Geisha Girl

Hi

I hope that you had a good weekend and the weather where you are has been kind.  It is very cold there today but at least there is no snow.

Today I have another of the Sherri Baldy geisha girls from The Scrapbook Stamp Society, this one is called Jasmin Geisha.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Wink of Stella pens.  I mounted it on silver mirri, the papers are from a Papermania stack and the cherry blossom flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Rose Blossom Geisha Girl

Good morning dear blogland friends, how was your weekend?

I keep looking for signs of spring but it is still very cold here and we keep having the occasional flurries of snow.  However, there are some indications that the warmer weather is coming with the snowdrops on the ground and the daffodils are pocking their little heads up and then, on Friday, I spotted that the cherry trees are in flower.  As you can probably tell I love all of the spring flowers and I look forward to their arrival ..... unfortunately they give me hay fever!

Today we have a new challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges and the theme chosen by Kerry is flowers, in memory of her daughter Rhianna Lily, whose birthday it would have been this week.

Inspired by the cherry trees, I created this card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on some silver mirri and pink card. The backing papers are from a Papermania paper stack and I added some faux stitching to some of the layers.  I also added some Glossy Accents to the umbrella and some of the roses.

Thinking of You

Hi, I hope you are having a good day.

A very good friend is going through a tough time at the moment and I wanted to let her know that she is not along so I thought I would send her a card.

The Happiest Day

Dear Friends

Two very dear friends of mine were married this week.  It was a fairytale wedding and a perfect day.  In all honesty I have never seen two people more in love or so happy to be getting married.

I wanted to send them a card which captured something of this magical day.  After a lot of searching I chose a Saturated Canary design, which I coloured with Copics and then sprayed with Crafter's Companion Spray and Sparkle.

I added lots of extra glitter to the dress.

I mounted the image on embossed white card and silver mirri.  Then I added a little ribbon from Stampin' Up and some flat backed pearls.  The gorgeous white roses came from Wild Orchid Crafts and, if you look really closely, you will spot some pearl headed hat pins amongst the roses.

It was a stunning wedding, one which we shall all be talking about for many years to come.  A perfect day for the perfect couple.

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Good morning my blogland friends.

It is time for another challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.  In celebration of the imminent wedding of our beloved leader, Stephanie-Emma has chosen the theme of 'Something old, something new, something borrowed or something blue'.

I have done my best to incorporate all four elements of the challenge into my project, but you do not have to do that, you can choose any of the four.

My Sizzix heart die and the pink glitter card are my something old and the roses, the 'Love' ticket, lace and buttons are all from my new Stampin' Up Artisian Embellishment Kit.

I have had my Penny Back stamp of of the bride for a couple of years but this is the first time I have used it, so I am not sure which camp it goes in.  I added some glitter to the dress and veil.

Something borrowed, I borrowed the Sizzix Bigz tag die from Stephanie-Emma.  I distressed the edges of the tag with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

And finally, my something blue comes in the shape of a button and the ribbon in the tag.
