Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Project Life

Good morning.

I love scrapbooking but struggle to to find the time to sit down and really enjoy myself doing it.  A few days ago I went to a Project Life Workshop to find out more about the concept and to have a go.

It was a great afternoon and very relaxing, here is my first attempt at a two-page spread.

I can't wait to get on with the rest of the album now.

Time for 'T'

'Morning

I am back today to share with you another button covered letter.  This time a 'T'.

I purchased an 8 inch MDF letter from Barry on ebay.  I gave it a coat of Gesso then, once it was dry, I painted it white using acrylic paint.

I also purchased a bag of mixed white buttons from ebay and used these to cover the painted letter.  Once everything was dry I cleaned any excess glue from the surface.  Finally, I added a few Petaloo Flora Doodle flowers.

Steampunk ... ish

Good morning

I am fascinated by steampunk images and have at long last plucked up the courage to have a go at something in the style of steampunk.  I thought I would start small and try a set of ATCs.

I created the background for my ATCs with Stormy Skies, Dusty Concord and Shaded Lilac on linen textured card.  I then used Vintage Photo to stamped Julie Nutting's script stamp over the top and I used black ink to stamp the Crafty Impressions clock faces.

The little clock pieces were difficult to stick to the card and I got in a bit of a mess more than once!

I named my ATCs after authors who are famous for their stories featuring either fabulous machines or some other steampunk reference.

I am not sure whether I have quite got the hang of it yet but I enjoyed making these ACTs and may, one day, have another go at something in the steampunk style.

Tucked in by Mother

Good morning

Regular visitors to my blog know that I have been busy making new baby cards.  So far they have all been little girl cards.

Here is another, this rather touching image is Tucked In By Mother from A Day for Daisies.

I coloured the image with a combination of Promarkers and Copic pens.  I then mounted it on some gold mirri card.  I am so disappointed that the photograph does not show how beautifully glittered the background paper, which is from a Forever Friends stack, is.

The polka dot paper is from Papermainia and the stunning glittered card is from Stampin' Up.  The ribbon, stork charm and flat backed gems are from my stash.

Crowning Glory

Good Morning

I hope that wherever you are the sun is shining on you today, here, in the UK, the sight of the sun is very welcome.

We have a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges today.  The theme for the next two weeks is 'Crowns'.  This theme was chosen by the gorgeous Gabrielle.

I recently treated myself to one or two (or maybe five) of Julie Nuttings Prima Doll stamps and I have been looking for an excuse to use them.

I paper pieced the dress, shoes and crown and coloured the skin and hair with Copic Pens.

I made the die cut flower from a coke can with a pearl brad at the centre.

I created the background with Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord.  The additional crowns are made from silver glittered card.

The rest of the Design Team have been very busy making projects to inspire you, please take a look at the Crafty Boots Challenges page and good luck.

This Old House

Hi

How are your webbed feet coming along?  I cannot recall the last day it did not rain and this combination of cold and damp seems to be producing a fine crop of coughs and colds.

Dear friends have recently moved home.  Personally I think they are totally insane, but they love buying perfectly lovely houses and transforming them into show houses, I cannot wait to see what they have done to the latest one.

This lovely 'Old House' digital stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil.  After colouring it with Promarkers I mounted it on Silver mirri and green card.  The backing paper is for my lovely Papermania stack.  The picket fence die is from CottageCutz and the butterfly die is by Cherry Lynn Designs.  The flat backed gems and peel offs are from my stash.

Bingo, It Must Be Love!

Good morning

February already, where do the weeks go?  For the last few weeks it has been very wet in the UK but the past couple of days have been bright sunshine and such a tonic.  However, today the weather has not made up it's mind, I have my fingers crossed for sunshine.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, the Bingo theme has been chosen by our beloved leader and muse, Stephanie-Emma.  You can choose either a line across, down or diagonally or you can go for the Full House from this Bingo Grid.

With my Valentine's Day card I have gone for a bit more than a line but not quite a full house.

This adorable owl digital stamp, called 'Owl Moon', is from Mo's Digital Pencil, I coloured it with Promarkers and mounted the image on some red glitter card.

The red polka dot paper is by Papermania, the butterfly dies are by Memory Box, the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the ribbon is from my stash.

I made the wired heart by sandwiching some Angelina Fibers between two layers of Fantasy Film and ironing then onto the inked heart shaped stamp using the flat iron I bought for encaustic art. The Wire Art Heart stamp is from Clarity Stamps.

Please take the time to look at the Crafty Boots Challenges website and all of the lovely projects the rest of the Design Team have made.
